New Patient Consultation

Each new patient consultation will last approximate 60 minutes. It is an opportunity to introduce you to the practice and team. During this appointment it will give Gary a chance to get to know you and give the peace of mind that you are in a safe caring environment. We will review your functional and aesthetic dental goals, and discuss treatments that can be implemented.

It is advised to come a little earlier than the appointment time to complete the correct registration and pre consultation forms, to ensure we don’t keep you waiting longer than necessary. We also advise to come prepared and have an idea of what treatment you think you may be interested in. This will help direct the flow of the consultation and help me prepare some example cases and information for you to take home.

A new patient welcoming includes;

  • A thorough clinical examination

  • Oral cancer screening

  • Risk factor assessment for general dental health, decay, periodontal (gum) disease, tooth surface loss, and oral cancer

  • Assessment of previous dentistry that has been carried out

  • Clinical Photographs

  • 3D Digital scan of your teeth

  • Radiographs

  • Treatment planning

After the consultation you will be given a written treatment plan with a breakdown of the treatment, its costs and the appointments that are required. Sometimes…. especially in complex cases, the consultation appointment should be thought of a chance to gather information as we may need additional time and discussions with colleagues regarding your options and definitive treatment plan, in cases of a multidisciplinary nature. In these cases a complementary review appointment can be organised for further discussion.
